There is not a lot of time in the day for me to be still, part of my new year intention is to try to pause, breathe and take a few more moments for myself. One of the things which helps me be present and slow down in the most unexpected of times, is the simple pleasure of a quick pamper. I am talking basic, no treatments, no appointments, just small moments through out the day which bring me back into reality from the chaos of my life. I swear, one of the things I look forward to is washing my
hands due to my latest obsession with Aesop. The texture and smell make it this profound moment for me, as soon as I see the bottle I take my sweet time washing my hands enjoying every second of it. No “mama” screaming down the hall is going to interrupt this moment. I top it off with their hand cream to bring me back in to what ever I need to get back to.
I get this same tantalizing feeling during my morning and evening skin care routine when I apply my new stocking filler by Tata Harper Rejuvenating Serum. The scent is what won me over to try something new and I am now hooked. My skin feels soft, dewy and youthful. I close my eyes, take a deep breath and feel positively radiant.
Speaking of positivity. I truly believe in the healing powers of crystals and I use Mangano Calcite as my ‘love me’ rock. Us mothers tend to ourselves last most of the time. We also need unconditional love and to be nurtured, who is going to take care of us after a hard day?
Another obsession of mine has been with Rodin. A break your bank kind of obsession sadly. I happened to get hooked on the perfume and now each refill comes with a lovely ouch to my savings. I do feel like a woman when I wear this, I feel sexy, powerful and successful. That is all I need to start my day off right. Clearly I am a scent girl. Most the things which make me feel good come with a damn good smell. I was lucky to get another awesome stocking stuffer for the Rodin Santa lover who brought me some lipgloss to match. This is my date night, on set or lunch with my girls go to. Keeps the sex appeal going all day, well in my head it does.
On the regs, I reach for my Earth Tu Face skin stick. I slather it on my lips, definitely no sexy happening here, it is quiet a large stick for application. My daughter also loves it and is one I am happy for her to call ‘makeup’. It heals her chapped skin around her lips so I encourage her to get ‘lipsticked’! Everyone I know, East to Westside of LA has been raving about this product. I finally ran into their booth at the Echo Park Craft Fair a few weeks back and purchased it for myself. Coco ruined it in the first 5 minutes ofcourse but the idea of sharing something natural, organic and with good smells sounds like a mother daughter bonding moment.
The last thing on my favorites for 2015 is one I blogged about recently. Paula Mallis brought out her small yet beautiful line of maternity products last year. I am still working my way through her Pregnancy Mist spritzing it around me all day long when I need a moment of ‘ Ahhhh’. The smells bring me complete surrounded in that moment and I feel love and warmth all around me.
There is it, my favorite obsessions of the moment. Things which make me smell good and feel really really sildenafil moins cher homme good in the moment. I encourage you all to take a moment when you apply something to your skin or body, realize you are doing something good for you and enjoy it, even for a second.
